I'm assuming you're talking about new computers. This is a basic supply and demand scenario. Supply with no demand.....time for a sale. The lower the demand, the lower the price. Ever wonder why companies like Dell have so many sales? The worst thing a company can do is throw away its stock.

There's also donations, such as for schools and other charities. At least then there can be a tax write off.

It is totally dependent on different companies, but most of them have the confidentiality policy, so one thing that will definitely be destroyed/disposed: the hard disk.

They will usually destroy the logical drives of the hard disk to render the data inside unrecoverable or to completely destroy it to pieces using special shredders or being flattened.

As for other parts, they may sell other parts quite cheaply to employees, charitable organisation or others through other menas. Some may also destroy the PCs completely by flattening them or shred them.
There are two ways
