Are HP computers quality, are they better than Dell.
I was looking at a Dell desktop the Inspiron 530, but Dell have a bad reputation. I looked at a Packard Bell, it felt horrible plasticy and cheap
Then i looked at HP desktops, the Pavilion slimline, they look quality, but are they?
I want a computer to least me another 5-6 years
Thanks for an answers
Do HP computers have a good reputation?kawasaki
the 16 year computer tech guy must work on ancient HP computers. i have been to their website several time and found instructions with pictures. i also added memory to my hp , it took about 2 minutes, i just snapped them in, no dis assembling anything. my hp does appear to be a solidly built machine.i chose the hp because like the other person said there are hate sites about dell and hp was the company i couldn't find much of anything bad about.

Yes, they are good!
All computers are good, it depends what your going to use it for. If you can get that many years out of a computer your doing great. I would stay away from the slimlines. Buy a computer is hard work, look at up grades, processor speed, ram, operating system, and programs that you need installed. Sometimes it better to have it custom built with you need to have, it's cheaper in the long run.
H/P is the absolute best. If you'll check the hate websites you'll find all sorts of horror stories about the poor customer no-service at Dell. the computer I'm using to answer your question is can H/P Pavillion dv8000 wide screen. You ought to watch a movie on the screen. It's as close to high def as you can get.
Have worked with dozens of Dells and HPs. The HPs are usually rock solid machines and will run for years. However, they are often poorly engineered inside. They literally will hold down cables with duct tape, and place commonly accessed parts like the memory behind other parts so that you have to disassemble half the PC just to add memory. They are a nightmare to service.
