Networking/ hooking up 2 computers?

how do i hook 2 computers together in 2 diff rooms.i want to play online and offline games with my son, me vrs him or us together in a game as a team...my computer is in the front room his computer is in his bed room..about 100 feet apart.

The most cost effective method would be a cross-over cable, like a category 5 ethernet cable - and as the first answerer stated, both PCs need a network card.

Cat 5 is 8 wires in 4 twisted pairs. Typically in a non-crossover scenario the cable uses 2 pair for output and 2 pair for input.

In a crossover scenario the cable acts as a "loop" between two nodes.

u can use a cross cable if u have a net work card in both the computers.

if it is wireless its gonna be costing u huge amount.
