the first personal computer was made by IBM (yeah, pretty suprising that IBM did somthing so remarkable)

in 1981.

if i remember right, it had OS/2 or MS-DOS 1.0

no internet, no Windows.

Windows did not hit the scene until 1985 with Windows 3.0.

but, people were very dissatisfied with the first Windows.

it was overpriced, hard to use (just like Vista) and, the black and white screens pc's had back then did not work right cuz of the colors and fancy graphics.

some people lay the blame of personal computing on video games, but, no it was all IBM. everyone else stole IBM's idea and copyed there work, just like Intel, AMD stole there idea for the microprocessor.

but, the whole thing started in 1981, and, so much has changed since then, i was not born until '93, but i would have liked to been around for the 80's.

the first computer was made by the USA government in the early 50-60's the first question it was ask was 2+2 a great big calculator it took up a whole building.the Internet was built also by US government before the cold war to tell if a city in the USA was destroy by nuclear weapons. it used telephone lines it used the grid method it would send a message from the position to a another position until it got their if not the place was destroyed
