Iam upgrading from an Hp2000 to an HP 2006. Their are certain programs, sites, pictures, etc. that I want to save, others I do not. How do I accomplish this without tranfering the whole disc drive. I don't want to transfer any existing promplems from the old disc and computer to the new one. Any help would be helpful, and the simpler the way the better. Know absolutely nothing about computers.

Connect the new computer's hard drive to your old computer and drag n drop the files/folders onto it, or just get a nice usb / flash drive to transfer the stuff. Also, iPod's can be used to transfer files between computers by allowing disc use on the connect screen and then dragging / dropping the files onto the disc. Just connect your iPod to the new computer after transferring files and drag them onto the new hard drive.

save it onto a USB or a cd. if u have, save it to an external Hard drive.
then just copy it.
everything you will want is in the documents and settings folder under your user name...everything
