I prefer custom made computers, like the one i am using

my computer's shell is: Verre V770 case

i am using a Maxtor hard drive...my CPU is

AMD Athlon XP 2500+ (it runs 1.84Ghz)

it has a CD Recordable Rewritable Drive, underneath it, it has a DVD-Rom, and it has one floppy drive...

Custom all the way. Brand name computers are for people that don't know how a computer works, or are too lazy to choose. A computer is a big enough investment that I want to choose EXACTLY what gets put into it.

Yes, I perfer them! You install all that you want, get the any device that you want installed, make the system work for you instead of you working to make system work with comesson them. As long as you have the time and effort, I would just gather all the parts and build it myself anyways. Then if you can be proud of your accomplshment. I have built 3 computers from scratch I have never had any problems with them.
