Before the Internet.....we didn't know what we were missing. Meaning that what we didn't know about what's out there and what other people were doing/have so the drive to "keep up with the Jones's" wasn't quite so strong.

I feel it a shame that without computers people can no longer figure out how to give the correct change, take roll call, or have decent penmanship for that matter. With the advances computers provide they also take other things away from us without knowing it until it's too late. So the impact has been both positive and negative, in my opinion.
