How do I network two home computers together?

I have two computers in my house, and one printer, I want to be able to print from both computers to the printer. I also want to be able to access the files on one computer from both computers. I would also like to have log ins for each person in my family (I have them now but they are seperate, like you click on your name and then type in your password). Thank you for helping me. You need a crossover cable to connect them. Assign IP addresses to them, and turn on file and printer sharing.

Connect the printer to one computer and install it. Set it to be shared. On the other computer connect a network printer, find the printer on the other computer, and install it.

As far as logins, that's how logins work - you type your login name and password. If you want them automated, get a fingerprint reader. Or do you want something else?
go to the start icon the look for control panel and click on it. After that look for an icon that says sharing and networks and click on it. From there you should be able to connect both computer to one, but i'm no expert so you might want to call one if it don't work
